Louvretec Pergolas
If you’ve been comparing louvered roof options for your Bay Area or Sacramento backyard, there’s a good chance you’ve come across the name Louvretec. Exterior Perfections installs Louvretec pergolas across Northern California; explore the options below to find the right fit for your property.
Our Louvretec Systems
All three systems share the same aluminum and stainless steel foundation, but each solves a different problem for your outdoor space.
Louvretec 180 Linear Roofs
The Louvretec Opening Roof captures and complements the look of today’s architecture. With bold angular lines and sharp, cleanly defined edges, the flat blade’s unique design sets it apart from the competition, with each blade edge angled at 45 degrees for a tongue-and-groove effect when closed.
The opening roof uses a Spiral Pivot Operating System, or can be hand-operated using a custom-built crank and gearbox. All the mechanisms, including the bearings for each blade, the marine-grade stainless steel hex bar, hidden gearbox, and motor, are all hidden within the framing system, which is why the 180 Linear is far more advanced than other louvered pergolas available today. Plus, extra-wide gutters on all four sides provide maximum water protection with a neat picture-frame effect.

180 Linear Louver Blade
The Louvretec Opening Roof captures and complements today’s architectural look. With bold angular lines and sharp, cleanly defined edges, the flat blade’s unique design sets it apart from the competition. The edges of each blade are angled at 45 degrees, giving a tongue-and-groove effect when closed.
Everything that makes it run stays out of sight: the bearings, marine-grade stainless steel hex bar, the gearbox, and the motor are all built into the framing itself, protected from sun, salt air, and rain. Run it on a Spiral Pivot Operating System, or open it by hand with a custom-built crank and gearbox. Plus, the gutters are 7-¼” extra wide on all four sides, providing maximum water protection, and neatly angled to provide a picture-frame effect.
Louvretec Translucent
If loss of light is an issue when the opening roof is closed, the 260 Translucent Opening Roof provides the answer, featuring a white in-fill panel of Acrylic Naturelite Plexiglas®. Plexiglass offers natural UV protection throughout the material itself rather than an applied coating, which is why it’s used in aircraft cabin windows to protect against UV light, pressure changes, and extreme cold. As standard, the opening roof comes with a 185mm extra-wide gutter around all four sides of the roof.
Not all pergolas offer the traditional charm of a louvered roof while still letting filtered sunlight through, even when fully closed. For those moments when you want the louvers completely shut yet still want natural light to flood the space, the 260 Translucent stands out as an excellent choice.

260 Translucent Louver Blade
Most louvered roofs force a trade-off: close them for privacy or weather, and you lose the light. The 260 Translucent doesn’t. When you want the louvers shut tight, but still want natural light flooding the space, this is the blade that solves it.
Retractable Louvered Pergola
This innovative stacking, or retractable, system uses new technology designed, developed, and extensively tested by Advanced Design Innovations (ADI) in Australia. In collaboration with ADI, Louvretec offers this next-generation retractable louvered pergola. These systems feature all the attributes of traditional opening roofs, with the added advantage that, at the press of a button, they rotate to 90 degrees and retract away, leaving a clear, open space above.
Enjoy uninterrupted sun in winter, the stars above on a summer’s evening, and wide-open views whenever you want. Then, hit the button, and get covered protection from the wind and rain.
The 220 Retract has been carefully engineered aroundseveral unique features:
Manufactured in module sizes up to 19' long, the heavy-duty 8-11/16" blade spans from 16'5" in low wind zones down to 13'2" in extra-high wind zones.
Louvers can be stacked to 28% of their opening space, then fully extended and closed to form a sealable roof.
Louvers rotate to 90 degrees for retracting and stacking, but extend fully open through to 135 degrees for the full benefits of an operable system.
Two frame configurations are available: louvers stacking against the house or under the soffit, or a three-sided frame allowing clear, open space above when retracted.

220 Retract Louver Blade:
Outdoor sun control keeps getting smarter, and retracting when not in use is the feature that changes everything. It’s the best of both worlds: functional when you need coverage, completely out of sight when you don’t.

Why Choose a Louvretec Pergola with Roof?
Complete User Control
You can turn the blades of our premium louvered roof systems up to 180 degrees to control light, airflow, and shade. The drive system is hidden, so everything works smoothly and quietly on your patio or deck.
All-Weather Design
Our pergolas with roofs are built for Northern California’s weather, with built-in gutters moving rainwater away fast to keep your area dry. When closed, the blades seal tightly against a soft strip. The powder-coated finish helps prevent rust and fading, whether you live by the coast or inland. You can opt for motorized or manual controls, depending on your budget and needs.
Simple Maintenance
Cleaning an opening roof is easy. Just rinse it and give it a light clean as needed. The strong aluminum frame and quality parts mean your installation will last for years. It’s a great way to add comfort and value to your home, minus the headache of expensive and complicated maintenance.

FAQs
-
Adding a louvered pergola makes your patio more comfortable, offering shade and protection from the weather, which can help attract more attention if you sell.
According to the Outdoor Finishes report from the National Association of REALTORS®, new patios and decks can recover much of their cost when you sell your home, with national data showing patios can recoup nearly 95% of their cost.
-
Louvered roof systems in California can last 20–30 years, or longer, when made with quality metal parts and properly installed. Actual lifespan will depend on materials, finish, installation quality, and local climate—considering coastal salt air or strong inland sun.
-
In most areas of California, you will need a building permit to install or replace a roof structure, under the California Residential Code.
-
We offer lending via Enhancify across our entire Louvretec range, with flexible terms and fast approval to make upgrading your patio’s roof easier to budget.
-
The main difference is movement. A retractable system can fully stack or slide away, while a fixed louver roof only adjusts by rotating its blades, changing how much of the sky can be revealed.
-
A quick rinse or wipe-down every few months is usually enough to keep the aluminum frame and finish looking new. The moving parts are largely enclosed within the system’s frame, which protects them from weather and keeps servicing to a minimum. A regular, light clean will help the blades continue to rotate or retract smoothly for years to come.
-
Yes, in most cases. Louvretec systems can be attached to an existing structure, and our team will take on-site measurements to ensure everything aligns properly for drainage and support. Every installation is assessed individually, so it’s best to get in touch to understand what’s possible in your space.
-
Each system uses an integrated gutter that channels water into a hidden perimeter frame, so rainwater is directed away rather than pooling on top of the blades. When fully closed, a soft seal strip helps keep the space underneath dry during wet weather.
Drainage performance varies depending on the roof design and installation. It’s worth discussing your specific layout with our team during your consultation.
